Go visit the Atlanta aquarium to see how it should be done. A complete joke from the camera guys harassing my family for a photo to not being able to see the stingrays without paying extra. Overal I feel they were more about extracting money than providing a memorable experience with animal encounters. Rented a powered chair for my aging mother for $35 ($10 deposit plus $25 fee yes $25!!!) at some point on the visit my 7 year old sat with my mom on it and the attendant - at days end - said that she was spotted and reported doing this and that they wouldn't normally return the deposit for this violation but would make an exception. Stingray and giraffe experiences extra $$ orangutans none existent and animals generally AWOL. Expensive entrance fees for a not great visit for 8 of us. All around, outstanding value for the price! This can be very romantic for couples too. There is also the gift shop with tons of stuffed animals and everything else one would expect - (2 for $30 ont he animals). The park prices for food are not the cheapest, so we did bring our own waterbottles, but all food is available and very good kettle corn if that is your thing ($7 a bag). Music is piped in throughout much of the presentation which is very relaxing so this could be used for that purpose in itself. We are also allowed to go in any direction throughout the zoo, and stop for restroom breaks or food as it is ongoing throughout the evening until the park closes which is also good for families when the unexpected comes up. This is very relaxing adventure and everyone can go at their own pace so you can really make a night of it if you desire. As we left at around 20:00-20:30, the line had gone down again and there was no waiting so I would avoid the 19:00 time window at all costs, especially if you have fidgety children or the elderly on board. The Phoenix Zoo is especially wonderful during spring when they have some of the zoo lights up still Check out Sam & Josh’s fabulous Phoenix Zoo wedding here. The first time we went at opening at 18:00 and there wasn't a long line, the second time was at 19:00 and we stood for an eternity and people were getting testy and jocking for first place. They are accessible by wheelchair and stroller or wagons too, so everyone can go. 110: II.This adventure is worth taking the whole family to, and at $10 a person at the regular price (senior and member discount available) actually an affordable treat for large families.
